WIP Update 05

WIPUIt’s been a while since my last update, so there’s a lot to cover, but I don’t want to overwhelm you.

I finally decided to look to the future and made a decision about how I wanted my little romance to end. I know who Rebecca from, It’s Like the Full Moon, will end up with. I just need to finish writing the story so I can move forward. This story, after all this time, is still just in first draft mode. Once I finish this draft, I will finally be able to go back and properly develop all the characters and setting before evening beginning to worry about grammar and syntax.

I’ve started to look over my short stories and decided to release what I have. I’m still putting the finishing touches on some of them, but I think I’m ready for the editor. I’ve also decided to make this, soon to be self-published, collection truly worth the price I set for it by including a never before shared novella within it. So basically, this will be a hefty little read.

I have made so many strides in my Solomon’s Sword story that I’m going to leave my next update open solely for reporting on that. I’m very excited about where this story is going…

Feeling a little lost about what’s going on in this post? Just see the side panel and search My Topics, WIP Updates, to get all caught up. Also check my WIP tab to see what else I may be working on.

Do you have a WIP update to share?

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. If you like it let me know and share it with others. See you next time, Toi Thomas. #thetoiboxofwords

Eternal Curse: Battleground chapter 1(wip)

I stood there cold, shivering, and sulking staring out the viewing portal of my quarter. I’d placed my face so close to the plastic pane that I could fog it up with the subtle blowing of my trembling breath. I was trying to focus on anything I could to keep myself from crying yet again, a task that had begun to offer me a weird kind of comfort. I was so tired of crying, but what could I really do about it; I was sad and grieving. I looked down and watched as the day laborers were struggling to set up the tents and move in chairs, in the midst of the torrential downpour that was pounding against them.

EC: Battleground Sample Sundays

6 Sentence Sunday 9: ECB

This is a weekly meme hosted and originated by 6 Sentence Sunday.

Eternal Curse: Battleground-6 sentences from chapter 2 (a work in progress).

I was still in shock. My mind and body had never known of such pleasure and joy; if I hadn’t been so happy I would have thought I was dreaming. That was the first time in my life I was actually glad I’d always had such horrible nightmares because it meant that the happiness I was experiencing was really real. I could never have dreamed up such wonderful things.

I sat up in the bed, early that morning and just watched Mira sleep. Cradled in the comfort of our silky, warm, and exhausted sheets, I happily stared at Mira in the half-light of cracked blinds.

To participate, pick six (6) sentences from anything you like (it can be from a Work in Progress (WiP), something you recently sold, something you hope to sell or even something already under contract and available for purchase – and don’t worry, Six Sentence Sunday is for published AND unpublished writers).
