It’s Like the Full Moon chapter 1(wip)

“Wow I wish my dad was as crappy as yours if it means getting bling like this,” she said, in her usual joking tone.

Rebecca replied softly with exhaustion, “It is beautiful isn’t it?”

“Yeah, girl. It’s really special.” Lisa turned around crossing her legs and looked around the room. “So I guess this will definitely be a birthday you won’t soon forget will you?”

“No I suppose not,” answered Rebecca.

“Say Becca, when does Teddy finally graduate? It seems like he’s been in school since we were in college?”

“He has miss-oblivious,” snapped Rebecca comically. “He’s only three years younger than us. He’s just finishing up his Master’s degree in Business Economics and he’s already passed the Bar examine. He’s going to be a great finance lawyer. He walks next month”

“Correction!” snapped Lisa. “He’s only two years younger than me; remember I’m not as old as you. I skipped a grade.”

Eternal Curse: Battleground chapter 1(wip)

I stood there cold, shivering, and sulking staring out the viewing portal of my quarter. I’d placed my face so close to the plastic pane that I could fog it up with the subtle blowing of my trembling breath. I was trying to focus on anything I could to keep myself from crying yet again, a task that had begun to offer me a weird kind of comfort. I was so tired of crying, but what could I really do about it; I was sad and grieving. I looked down and watched as the day laborers were struggling to set up the tents and move in chairs, in the midst of the torrential downpour that was pounding against them.

It’s Like the Full Moon chapter 1

Rebecca began to remember how when she was a little girl, her father would read the Sunday paper to her and emphasize the comics page just for her. After the divorce, on the weekends that she didn’t spend with him, he’d call and read them to her over the phone. As the years went on, Rebecca’s father had become more and more unreliable and forgetful, and always seemed to be too busy. Just when she would get good and mad at him, he’d do something wonderful to win back her heart. All of her family and friends gathered around as her best friend, Lisa, stood in the corner wearing her usual, form fitting bright red eye catching short dress, recording the whole presentation.
