#iwsgbookclub June 2022 Poll & What I #read in May

Please join the IWSG Book Club today on Goodreads for a short general poll. Aside from spotlighting two IWSG member books each month, we also want to engage in bookish whimsy and encourage others to have a healthy reading lifestyle. You don’t have to be reading or have read the 2 current featured books to be able to participate in this poll, so please, join in the festivities. Click the image below to see our fun poll. This month the topic is about writing in series or standalone.

June ’22 General Poll

In May 2022, I read 4 titles, sticking to my two IWSG Book Club reads, my Read With Fey selection, adding a Read Local Show title, and a re-read. Check it out.

Up on the Roof and Other Stories: Revised with Bonus Short Story by Judy Ann Davis. Please click the image below to join the short discussion.

Here’s a bonus question, if you’re up for it. Please leave your answer in the comments below. See my answer just below the question.

Q: Not all relationships have a happily ever after. Can you name one story in the collection that doesn’t and why?

A: (My response) – The Bellhop and the Poet. In this story, one lover is kind of looking down on the other for their lack of ambition. When the one lover thinks they have a chance to gain riches, they promise the other never-ending love. Their insincerity is repaid by harsh reality.

#iwsgbookclub May. 2022 Check-in

It’s time for a monthly check-in. We, at the IWSG Book Club, invite you to share your thoughts and or progress on our current member spotlight books via the social media platform(s) of your choice. I’ll be sharing my thoughts below and encourage you to share in the comments below, if you’re not up for heading to social media.

I finished reading an ARC I received which pushed back some of my book club reading and I haven’t even picked up my #ReadWithFey selection yet. This hurt shoulder has been a real pain; I feel like I’m moving so slow because of it.

I’m 74% through this collection and have really enjoyed it. So far, I find it relaxing to read a little of this between stressful tasks.

I’m 30% through this and find it quite adorable at the moment. The pet fly is cute and the blend of magic and tech really appeals to me.
