Giovanni further explained to Mira that he had an unusual skin condition that made him sensitive, almost allergic, to direct sunlight. He explained that ever since he was born his skin had been a dull grayish color, not quite lacking in pigment but something more unique. Giovanni explained that it wasn’t a gray color like that of pale or pasty skin; it was more of a gray like the color of ash after a fire.

He explained that he could go outside with the proper sun protection, just never at midday when the sun is the brightest. He then went on to explain that he hardly ever went out in public around other people. He told her how, throughout his childhood and even as an adult, the scrutiny he would receive from passersby was too much for him to bear.

Eternal Curse: Battleground-6 sentences from chapter 1(a work in progress).

I stood there cold, shivering, and sulking staring out the viewing portal of my quarter. I’d placed my face so close to the glass that I could fog it up with the subtle blowing of my trembling breathe. I was trying to focus on anything thing I could to keep myself form crying yet again, a task that had begun to offer me a weird kind of comfort. I was so tired of crying, but what could I really do about it; I was sad and grieving. I looked down and watched as the day laborers were struggling to set up the tents and move in chairs, in the midst of the torrential downpour that was pounding against them.

I almost giggled at the site of some Automs huddled under a canopy, needlessly afraid of the water, but I lacked the energy to follow through.

It’s Like the Full Moon -6 sentences from chapter 2 (a work in progress).

Sitting and waiting was never one of Teddy’s favorite things to do. He might not have been so bothered if he hadn’t just rushed himself away from his own fabulous graduation party. He got there just one and a half minutes late, and now he had to wait for Virgil. He walked up and down the hall of Rebecca’s quaint suburban apartment bouncing a small rubber ball and catching it in midair. Rebecca, Lisa, and TiTi Lucy sat in the living room around the television checking the weather report as Teddy’s annoying behavior began to drive TiTi over the edge.

“Theodor Tinsdale, would you stop that idiotic bouncing already,” she demanded of him.
