Eternal Curse: Giovanni’s Angel -6 sentences from chapter 3.

Giovanni stretched out his neck and squinted his eyes, but he could not make out the face of the angelic warrior. As the victor knelt down and placed his hand over the head of his foe, Giovanni could see that he was looking down at the slain face of a youth; a golden boy, curled up like a wheel with his head pressed into his feet. His body was covered with a thousand crying eyes that now remained forever shut behind their resting lids.

There seemed to be a black smoke-like spirit fading away, almost seeping, from the corpse as it disintegrated into ash. Giovanni was nearby struggling to break free, as forces of anger and hatred held him down. He could not see this enemy, this dark force that was digging its claws into his flesh, causing blood to trickle painfully from his body.

Eternal Curse: Battleground-6 sentences from chapter 2 (a work in progress).

I was still in shock. My mind and body had never known of such pleasure and joy; if I hadn’t been so happy I would have thought I was dreaming. That was the first time in my life I was actually glad I’d always had such horrible nightmares because it meant that the happiness I was experiencing was really real. I could never have dreamed up such wonderful things.

I sat up in the bed, early that morning and just watched Mira sleep. Cradled in the comfort of our silky, warm, and exhausted sheets, I happily stared at Mira in the half-light of cracked blinds.

6 Sentence Sunday 8: Full Moon

This is a weekly meme hosted and originated by 6 Sentence Sunday.

It’s Like the Full Moon -6 sentences from chapter 3 (a work in progress).

Later that evening and for each evening the rest of that first week, Lisa and Rebecca went out on the town and cruised from one night club to another and behaved as though they were back in college. When Saturday night rolled around it was time for the ladies to pull out all the stops and put on their best show for the wealthy young Italian men of Milan. Reliving her youth was beginning to become a difficult chore of resentment for Rebecca. While she enjoyed the simultaneous anonymity and daring excitement that the nightclubs offered, as well as the dancing, music, and flirtatious attentions of complete handsome foreign strangers, she was beginning to tire of the whole thing and was beginning to feel foolish. She was beginning to feel like a chaperon, putting on a good face each night to keep her dear friend from venturing out alone and keeping her from getting in trouble, or worse getting involved with someone. But it was Saturday night and they were still in Italy and that somehow made it all right.
