Eternal Curse: Battleground chapter 2(wip)

By this time, Jack was an old man, but he was still very strong and fit. Standing six fit tall with a perfectly straight back, he looked like a stone cutout of an old military officer. Even with his grey hair and wrinkled skin he was quite a sight. He leaned over to my ear with his hand rested on my shoulder. “You say the word…I’ve got them all within my trajectory. I’ll take’em all out for you?” he reported.

I swiftly turned in front of him recognizing the sincerity of his tone and put out my hands to address him. “No, that won’t be necessary. You don’t need to take anyone out, but I’d love some help and moral support.” I tilted my head to one side making the most innocent face I could.

Eternal Curse: Battleground chapter 1.4(wip)

“I saw him go out into the garden. He’s been going out there a lot lately.” With the boys rolling their eyes at me, I continued to explain. “I followed him to see if he wanted to talk and then he just took off. He didn’t even take off his shirt and foot supports. I picked up the remnants of his shredded garment and supports and brought them inside. I recycled them last night before you had a chance to see them. I didn’t want you to worry.”

Sheldon snapped. “Stop trying to protect me Tori; you should have told me last night! At least then I would have been able to track him!”

Eternal Curse: Battleground chapter 1.3(wip)

Life was hard for Sheldon in a way I constantly tried to understand, but never really could. Growing up, Sheldon was a great big brother, very loving and protective and also playful. As we both grew and changed, our lives and relationship became complicated. Now that I was bigger than him, he was having trouble dealing with the new dynamic of our relationship. He resented having to pretend to be my little brother around humans, which it seemed we were around more and more. Mom was the one who always seemed to make everything balance out just right, and now she was gone.
