Eternal Curse: Giovanni’s Angel chapter 7.3 (wip)

Mira sprang up from her bed, ran out of her room, and then down the hall and onto the deck, leaving behind her robe and forgetting to close all the doors behind her. Looking down at the garden below, Mira saw it again showered in the moonlight. It was grand, white, and bright. Its wings stretched out wide as it faced the night sky getting ready to take off. The great eagle ascended into the sky and soared around the estate two times, before floating off into the distance with what seemed like great urgency. Mira blinked her eyes as she watched the image disappear over the horizon. Once it was gone, she rushed back to her room and tightly tucked herself under her covers, feeling anxious and confused. Had she received a sign or was she simply dreaming of something magical?

Tea and Conversation 17: Nephilim

Today I’m sharing a picture of a black flora tea cup from my own collection I posted on my tea pin board.

Today in my meditation I’m thinking about Eternal Curse and I’m writing about: Why Nephilim?

This is not a new idea and with the success of such series as the Mortal Instruments, I feel a little overwhelmed to live up to the hype. Tales of angels, demons, and the humans who love them have become a little cliché as of late, but I can honestly say that my story is a little different from the popular norm, at the moment.

In my ECS, I refer to the Nephilim as half-breeds for two basic reasons. 1. I have actually come up with a back story that clearly separates the Nephilim from the ones I call half-breeds while still connecting them. 2. My story isn’t really about angels and demons with human lovers; it starts out with the offspring of these groups, the half-breeds, and builds from there. This story is about beings who existence, uncertainly, somewhere in between the worlds of angels and humans.

As with all things mythological, theological, and mystical, there is so much possibility and creativity to explore when dealing with the idea of “Nephilim”. If people can write stories about Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Dragons, Demigods, Mermaids, and more, then why not half human-half angels.

Eternal Curse: Battleground 8.1 (wip)

I was amazed by Mom’s boldness; she was such a natural leader, like Fred. Seeing those two together made me feel safe somehow; knowing they were the good guys made me feel that all the fighting was worth it. I just knew that all the battles would come to an end one day, and all the conflicts would be resolved. Fred explained that he’d been seeking out a special and rear kind of half-breed with powers and capabilities far beyond that of the average. He said he knew of only two other such types and that they were called the Descendants.
