Monthly Question: In terms of your writing career, where do you see yourself five years from now, and what’s your plan to get there?

****

I’ve been trying really hard not to think too much about this. I’m a worrier and thinking about the future is where it all begins. That said, I can’t deny that I don’t have at least five different 5-year plans currently fighting to be the plan I put in motion… I may be a hopeless case.

Three things I know for sure:
1) A revamp of my blog and overall writing methodology is in the works and will be put into motion starting sometime after the new year.
2) Whatever happens, I’ll still be writing and publishing in the next five years, though I may not be promoting it the way I have in the past.
2016-11-08-09-20-46-23) I will be working on several collaborations, taking the spotlight off myself and focusing on the projects themselves.

My whole worldview on writing has shifted a bit and I can’t keep doing things the way I have been the past view years. Plus, I’ve fallen in love with a dog named Margie and feel I must tell her story. Changes are coming and they are scary for me, but in five years, I’ll still be me and I’ll still be writing.

Are you a worrier?
Do you have multiple 5-year plans?
Has your worldview of writing ever changed?

Greetings all. I’m happy to announce that my 2015 was way better than my 2014 and I’m super excited to see 2016 and all that it has to offer. With that being said, I recognize that I, and my blogging career, are about to go through a major transition as I try something totally new (more details at a later time). Unfortunately, this transition means that my blogging and social media interaction will suffer while I’m figuring all this out (some of you may have already noticed my slack). In any case, I will make an effort to keep up with my major blog hops and visit my favorite blogs when I can, but I’ll probably be a bit elusive for the next few months.

For those of you who’ve been following me, please have patience with me. If things go as planned, I’ll be back on track and even better than before with my blogging and social media interaction; it’s just gonna take some time.

Enough about me. Aren’t you all excited to see the winners of the anthology contest. I can’t wait to get my copy. Wonder if it’s ready yet? 😉

How was your 2015?
Got any big plans for 2016?

Question of the Month

#Question of the Month: a #bloghop to think about. No. 8- What are some new year’s #resolutions you’ve had in the past?

A little while ago, Michael D’Agostino, of A Life Examined, brought up the idea of a new blog hop called Question of the Month. He thinks blog readers would like to know a little more about us, the bloggers. So we’re all gathering to show you guys who we are by taking part in the Question of the Month blog hop. On the first Monday of each month, we answer the question that gets posted here.

This month’s question is: “What are some new year’s resolutions you’ve had in the past?”

It’s been a while since I’ve really set any New Year’s Resolutions. I typically have so many other goals and deadlines to meet throughout the year that I simply don’t want to add on to anything at the beginning of the year. Plus, I go through a period of consecration each year, as do many Christians, and that’s usually when I stretch myself either mentally, physically, or both.

With that being said, I’ll admit that in the back of my mind I’m always thinking this will be the year I:
Lose weight,
Read more,
Hone old skills I’ve lost, such as: sewing, speaking Spanish, and programming.

I’d say that the last real resolution I set for myself was back in 2009. I told myself that I’d write a book and then I did. I have other goals I hope to meet, but I’m not setting any limitations on when they’ll get met.

Since it’s a new year, and if you feel like trying something new, why not check out my blog hop. It’s a great way to sample new-to-you books. Check my categories to see previous posts or click on BooktagsBlogHop to learn more.

Also, please visit the other participants in this hop and even join in if you’d like.
