Worth a Watch

This movie reminds me of my childhood and all the adventures I went on, and I’m not just talking pretend. There was a time when kids got up on a Saturday, ate their cereal, watched a few cartoons, and then went outside to play and discover. Thinking about that time of discovery and this film helps me capture the emotion, excitement, and sometimes mystique that comes with adventure, and then I put that in my writing.
I love these Goonies; they’re not exactly Neverland lost boys, but close enough. (One of them does become a lost boy of another kind, but that’s an 80’s trivia question for another day.)

Last Saturday I only posted a Weekly recap, but over at You Tube I posted the show I’ve already featured above.

I started out this week with Sample Sunday 59- EC: Battleground.

On Monday, I posted a Mira’s Closet.

On Tuesday, I added to my Character files Rebecca’s opinion on the Eternal Curse and then I posted an interview about The Pinata-Maker’s Daughter with author Eileen Clemens Granfors.

On Wednesday, I post my review of Grimm’s Fairy Stories.

On Thursday, I posted A Day In My Life: Tidewater Comicon.

And yesterday, I posted a Friday Forecast and recognized Halloween.

A Day In My Life: October ‘14: Tidewater Comicon

You may or may not find this surprising, but as a writer I’ve never been much of a journaler (I like making up words). I’ve always kept writing, sketching, and poetry notebooks, but I’ve never really liked writing about myself. This monthly post is my attempt at rectifying that and is an opportunity for me to get a little personal, as I share a single event from my life.

Tidwater Comicon

Well it isn’t exactly the big event they have in San Diego, but it works for me. Every time I’ve ever had an opportunity to go a con, something has always gotten in the way, but not this time. I celebrated my birthday early this year by having a fancy breakfast, going to a Comicon, and then catching an Admirals hockey game. Of course they lost; they never win when it’s my birthday…maybe it’s me.

Anyway, here are some pictures from my Tidewater Comicon adventure a few weeks ago.
