Eternal Curse: Giovanni’s Angel chapter 6.2 (wip)

Mira stood in the cool blowing breeze of the night air, and looked up into the sky and stared at the moon. She knew Abraham was right; she’d lost her faith a long time ago. Most of the time, she just pretended to believe in something. Mira had come to a point in her life where she only believed in what she could see and feel. She understood that faith was simply a leap she just hadn’t been able to take.

If only she could get over herself and her circumstances, make the choice to believe in something bigger than herself, maybe Giovanni wouldn’t be such a puzzle to her. Mira searched the sky that night, hoping to see the majestic bird of her dreams soar across the heavens giving her a reason to believe in something, but the night was growing colder. Mira waited until she could wait no more, and then scurried off to bed.

Fred actually contacted us first. How he found us, we didn’t figure out until much later. He reached out to us through our inbox, telling us that he was a friend of our cause. He told us he’d been watching us and liked what we were doing. Fred said it was good to know that there were do-gooders out there taking a stand and trying to make a difference. Then he told us that he could help us find The United and provide me with answers to questions I didn’t even know I had. Using information gathered from our digital communications, Fred had been able to identify me as a half-breed, and Mira as my human companion.

Eternal Curse: Giovanni’s Angel chapter 6.1 (wip)

Finally, one night after Mira and Giovanni had finished entering all their data into Abraham’s super computer, Mira joined Abraham and Giovanni for dinner. She was tired and weary. Her face and demeanor weren’t hiding anything and neither was she. That evening she ate her meal in silence. After dinner, Mira swiftly excused herself from the table and headed out to the gardens to get some fresh air. Giovanni remained in the kitchen to clean up. Abraham followed slowly behind Mira to talk to her.

“So, I take it you had an especially rough day today,” said Abraham in a questioning tone.

Mira shrugged her shoulders and slowly turned around and gave a sigh. “This isn’t what I was expecting,” said Mira beginning to pace again. “Tell the truth Abraham. Is there really something special here or am I just wasting my time?”
