Who needs enemies when you’ve got family

The stars are aligned in Adriana’s favor, but secrets have a way of exposing themselves just when everything is perfect. As Adriana and Haze’s relationship heads south, Carys is ready to pounce. Will Adriana’s lies drive the man she loves into the arms of another?

Meanwhile Zax is finally with his dream girl, but why can’t he get his best friend’s girl out of his mind? When she turns to him for advice on how to be a better girlfriend, can he put his selfish desires aside, or will he follow his siblings and take what he wants despite the consequences?

When Kevin’s lifestyle puts innocent L’Wren in danger, his retaliation brings his ruthless uncle back to Los Angeles and into the lives of his family. In Bad Uncle, you’ll get to know the man who has the power to change the legacy of the Banovic family forever.

Suitable for adults 18+

So here’s the dream soundtrack for Bad Uncle
and some notes to help you follow along.

Little Do You Know – Alex & Sierra
Haze and Adriana are so much in love with each other they make themselves crazy. For Adriana it was love at first sight when she first saw him at a photo shoot. Their relationship went through all sorts of trials and twists but they made it. Cut to Bad Uncle (Book 5), Haze discovers that Adriana has a secret that could land him in jail or worse. Because of this secret coming to light he has to break up with her and it is killing them both.

Never Stop – SafetySuit
This is a power Ballard for the millennium! Kevin knows he doesn’t deserve a woman like L’Wren. L’Wren is innocent, sweet and she had no idea how bad Kevin really is. In Bad Uncle his business dealings puts her in serious danger. Can he keep her safe and still get revenge against his enemies?

Nirvana – Sam Smith
Kristin has a lot to live up to, her father has set very high standards for her, so naturally she wants to rebel. She does so with her boyfriend’s best friend who is the biggest player in Westwood Academy. Kristin and Frankie give into temptation in a big way. The scene with them is by far the HOTTEST sex scene I’ve ever written. Because of this scene I have to give the book a Mature Audience rating.

I’m in love with a boy – Kaya Stewart
So now we’re back to Adriana and Haze. This song is so bad-ass reminds me of Adriana, this would totally be a song on her playlist. Adriana is sneaking around with Haze and to keep him safe and protect her secret she has to keep their relationship on the DL.

Almost Lover – Jasmine Thompson
Haze broke up with Adriana the love of his life but he is having a hard time moving on. He keeps looking at her pictures, texts and paintings of her. He is devastated because he’d had such high hopes for their future together. From the beginning he knew that she had the power to rip his heart out.

I See Fire – Jasmine Thompson
Zax realizes he has feelings for songster Leighann when he sees her performing this song around the campfire. Despite Leighann being an international singing sensation, Zax had never really paid attention to her music up until this moment.

Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
Adriana and Haze has a wonderful moment together, in this moment he knew he wanted her in his life forever. For the first time he lets her know about the plans he has for their future. He is timid because he doesn’t know if that would appeal to her. He’s fully prepared for her to shoot him down.

Who are you when I’m not looking – Blake Shelton
Haze know that Adriana is hiding something but he can’t figure it out. They’re on a date and her mind is far, he tries to find out what’s bothering her but she deflects.

Leave your lover – Sam Smith
Zax is falling for his best friend’s girl; he is in a losing battle with his heart and his loyalty. When he found out that they spent the night together, he pretends like it’s no big deal. He reflects on the time that she had a crush on him but he ignored her. Now it is too late.

Break Even – Script
After Adriana and Haze breaks up she goes to his house and gets there in time to see her nemesis Carys leaving Haze’s house. Carys is partially responsible for their breakup but Adriana doesn’t know that … Yet.

Adventures In Blogging: What is a Blog Tour & More?

Let me go ahead and say now that I am not about to reinvent the wheel. Most of what I’m about to say may seem commonplace or simple to many of you reading this, but that doesn’t mean that some of you haven’t been a bit confused about these terms. So, this article is for those who don’t know or who have been a bit confused.

The term Blog Tour is used loosely among the blog community which may be why some people aren’t quite sure what one is. Today I’m going to breakdown a few terms based solely on my experience and opinion. If you don’t like my terms, make your own…

Previously posted at SheWrites.com, read below to see how I define: Blog Tour, Virtual Book Tour, Blog Hop, and even Reblog.

adventure

Blog Tour– When a blogger visits other blogs to promote themselves or share information. These are often collaborative efforts and come with a theme. I participated in a tour once where each blog I visited shared a recipe and I got to pair something of mine with it. Blog Tours are usually set up in the form of a chain, where one blogger directs you to another, similar to the blog hop listed below- I’ll explain the difference when you get down there. Many of these are what we now consider tagging events. A blogger or group comes up with an idea to blog about and then tags others to join in.

Virtual Book Tour– a book tour that happens virtually/online. First, let’s clarify what a book tour is. Happening IRL (in real life) or in the physical world, a book tour consists of an author traveling around to bookstores, libraries, coffee shops, and more to do interviews, read samples, and more all to promote a book, usually a new release, but it doesn’t have to be. As part of the tour, ARC (advance reader copy) books are given out to book reviewers and or critics to help spread the word and build buzz. Now, take all this online and you have a virtual book tour. Hop around from site to site, blog to blog, social media to social media. Digital ARCs will also get sent out to help the book gain reviews and or buzz. The events that occur on the tour, whether IRL or virtually, are only limited to the author’s resources and imagination.

Blog Hop– a blog posting prompt, a sign-up chain, and a schedule of participation. For example, the IWSG (insecure writers support group) hosts a monthly blog hop where each blogger shares their insecurities and or triumphs on the first Wednesday of the month. The 150+ participants visit, or hop around, other participants on the sign-up list to leave comments, ask questions, and offer encouragement. Blog hops are usually themed and can be conducted regularly or be used for limited promotions. Instead of one blogger directing the reader to another blog, the full sign-up list is available for readers to pick and choose which blogs they want to visit, hoping around in whatever order they choose, to visit all stops on the hop or just a few.

Reblog– sharing a blog article you found somewhere else to your own blog and giving appropriate credit. This is not a pass to plagiarize someone else’s content. It is, however, a great way to share someone else’s content to give them a boost. I do this most often if I have a guest appearance on someone else’s blog and want the subscribers to my blog to know about it. Reblogs usually consist of the title, a quote from the content, and a link back to the original article (images are often used as well).

Hope you found this helpful and will be around for the next post.

EC: Giovanni's Angel Fun Hops

Wined, Dined, and Read Blog Tour and #FreeBook Giveaway!

I was invited to this, pretty cool, blog tour by the lovely M.C.V. Egan, author of the powerful novel, The Bridge of Deaths. She knew this food themed tour would be right up my alley. I actually have an intimate relationship with food and always find ways to slip it into my stories. So, without further ado, here I go comparing my book, Eternal Curse to food…Be sure to check out the giveaway at the end.

About the book:

1) If your main character were a glass of wine, which one would they be?

I think that if Giovanni was to be compared to a glass of wine, it would have to be something rare and exotic, perhaps something made from a very small and exclusive vineyard. He’d definitely be a dry red. The wine would have undertones of currant, sage, and perhaps even Rosewood (or some other strong wood). He’d be a drink to take with caution, not something to sip daily, but something to savor in desperate moments or in celebration of great triumphs.

2) Describe your book in one meal:

This is the question I’d hope to be asked. I believe meal time is important to the human condition. The way people cook their food, prepare their plates, and then gather or commune around a table or a circle on the floor says a lot about the character of the people and the relationships they develop. In Eternal Curse, I describe a few meals that my characters partake in as they develop their “family unit”. The one that I feel embodies the overall tone and message of the story, goes like this:

Three Green Pea Soup (an original recipe written for this book), Grilled turkey and mozzarella Panini’s with sun-dried tomatoes, and a pear tart for dessert. A great deal of planning, time, and love went into this meal and it was shared by my characters at a time when their bonds were just beginning to form.

3) What candy would your book be?

I know it sounds cliché, especially if you’ve read the book, but I’d say semi-sweet dark chocolate. It’s a great representation of the light and dark elements of this story.

4) What does your book smell like?

This is another easy question to answer considering the abundance of smells that appear in my book. In the olfactory sense, I’d describe this book as: a cup of green tea-coco (a drink designed for this story) being sipped in a garden just after dawn when the morning dew is still fresh.

5) Your book’s snack would be:

I actually had to think about this one or a while. I don’t think my characters do a lot of snacking in this story and I’m not a big snacker myself, so this required some extra thought. Then I considered a very small but important part of my story’s setting and then thought of one of the few things I do actually like to snack on. In the book, Giovanni’s home, Sinclair Manor, has apple trees leading up to his house and I adore eating apples. So, there you have it. It’s a healthy snack.

About the author:

1) Describe your most memorable meal:

I could go on for days describing countless meals that have stayed with me for positive reasons, but there is one that reminds me of home and family. My mother isn’t a bad cook; she just never cooked a lot. It’s not her thing, but she did make this one thing on a regular basis during my childhood. It’s a vegetable stew infused with rice and southern cornbread. Just thinking about it, doesn’t necessarily make me hungry, but it does make me long to be with my family. I may have to call my mother when I finish writing this.

2) One food word to describe your writing style:

Filling: I pack quite a bit into a relatively small portion.

3) What will someone find you eating/drinking when you’re really into a good book?

I’m probably drinking tea unless it’s really cold outside and then I switch to coco. I don’t usually eat while reading, but when I do it’s usually some kind of fruit or toast.

4) Sweet or Salty?

Both: homemade trail mix with sesame sticks, peanuts, crasins, and banana chips

For next week, I’ve passed the baton to two wonderful authors you’ll definitely want to check out.
