Tell us about a soup you love. Even if your favorite soup is from a can, that works! Take a picture of it (the can or the soup in a bowl) for your post. Easy peasy.

Aside from being thrilled to see such a cute book being released, I was so excited when I saw this hop because it’s all about soup. Now, I’m not crazy about soup or anything, but sometimes a good soup is the best thing in the world. Plus, I just so happen to have a pea soup recipe to share. It’s not a pretty soup and it always leaves my kitchen in a mess, but it’s hearty and delicious. I give you Abraham’s 3 Pea-Green Soup, created for and inspired by a character from my Eternal Curse Series.
BLURB:
Gregory Green loves his mom’s pea soup, but when he eats it at school, all of his friends make fun of how it looks. He doesn’t think it looks like bugs, and it tastes good! Then at recess, his friends run from him, screaming, “He’s a monster!” Gregory doesn’t know why his friends are being mean until he sees his skin is green. The teasing gets worse until an unlikely friend comes to the rescue—his teddy bear, Sammy. Sammy usually only comes to life for Gregory and his family, but Sammy has an important lesson to teach Gregory and his classmates.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Elaine Kaye got the idea for Pea Soup Disaster from her son who loved to eat her homemade pea soup. Pea Soup Disaster is the first of many fun stories featuring Gregory Green and his teddy bear, Sammy, as part of the Gregory Green Adventure series.
Kaye has worked as a library assistant and teacher’s assistant in elementary schools in the Sunshine State. She currently lives in Florida, but she has called Michigan; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Okinawa, Japan home. She is a grandmother of three boys.

It is a super cute looking book! Your soup looks great. Healthy and delicious.
Thank you, Ellen! 🙂
Thanks. I was going for healthy.
Another story soup. Very Cool.
Story soups… like that. 🙂
Thanks. I try to incorporate food into stories whenever I can.
Snow peas? Well, now. That’s different. My mom and I are always on the lookout for new-to-us pea soup recipes and this one sounds like a winner. And your slideshow is neat!
Thank you for sharing! And thank you so much for participating!
The snow peas offer an interesting texture and flavor to the soup; not quite sweet (slightly tangy).
Add chicken to it? That would make it more tasty all right.
Yeah. I’ve had it as a vegetarian soup and I’ve had it with chicken. I like them both.
That’s a cool way to show a recipe. I’ve never tried pea soup before, but lots of folks on this blog hop are singing it’s praises.
You should try it, Tamara. There are so many different varieties, too. 🙂
I find that people either love it or not, but most who at least try it find it surprizingly good.
I’ve never made soup with soy beans before. What an interesting recipe. Thanks for sharing it with us and for joining in today. It’s great to meet you, Toi.
It was originally meant to be a vegetarian soup. Soy beans are a good source of protein and they take on the flavor of whatever you cook them with.
My favorite is split pea soup. Thick and creamy with lots of ham chunks. I’m hungry just thinking about it. May have to go make myself some.
Sounds yummy!
That soup looks good. It’s making me hungry for peas.
Thank you.
You smartie! Sharing your recipe via slideshow is oh-so-classy and professional looking. Very cool! And the SOUP looks great, too! 🙂
Thank you. Wasn’t sure how the slide show would go over. Glad you liked it.
Another tempting Pea soup that I might have to persuade someone dear to make. I’m a fan of Dutch Pea Soup (Erwtensoep) https://www.holland.com/global/tourism/information/traditional-dutch-food/dutch-pea-soup.htm – although I blogged about Broccoli & Stilton soup.
I saw your recipe. It looks lovely.
3 different kinds of peas? Interesting. Wish I could figure out how to make 1 serving. Best wishes to Elaine.
I never thought to try to make one serving. I either cook it for company or for leftovers.
This soup looks really interesting. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you.
Favorite soup… I love a good ramen.
Yes, there is something to be said of a good ramen, but for me, they are hard to find outside of a good restaurant.
Pea soup isn’t the greatest looking soup for sure. Maybe if it was a different color. LOL
Yea, green isn’t the best color for a soup; not sure why though.
