#iwsgbookclub Mar. 2022 Poll & What I #read in Feb.

Please join the IWSG Book Club today on Goodreads for a short general poll. Aside from spotlighting two IWSG member books each month, we also want to engage in bookish whimsy and encourage others to have a healthy reading lifestyle. You don’t have to be reading or have read the 2 current featured books to be able to participate in this poll, so please, join in the festivities. Click the image below to see our fun poll. This month the topic is about the use of music/art when writing.

Mar. ’22 General Poll

In February 2022, I read 9 titles, though I didn’t finish one. I read 75% of it and that’s enough for me to count it on my Goodreads challenge. Check it out.

Hi Toi,
I read Nalo Hopkinson’s book Brown Girl in the Ring. She was living in Canada then. I will never forget the impressions she evoked in my mind as I read it. At that time, I was reading paperbacks or books with a hard cover. I had not switched over to reading ebooks. The cover fascinated me, and to be quite honest, it felt so good reading a book from a woman of colour. I have heard of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, but I haven’t read any of her books yet. But I have read a tremendous book from another Nigerian Writer, Joy Nwosu Lo-Bamijoko, entitled Mirror of our Lives.
Your list of books look very impressive. I must check out one or two of the writers that I don’t know.

Thanks Toi for your recommendations. I read so many books my head is in a whirl, especially when I’m writing at the same time. I’m thriving on thrillers at the moment. The Escape by C.L. Larsen I’ve just finished. (I have a strange habit of reading 2 books at a time). I read an Ann Cleeves Vera mystery concurrently. Love Vera!

I read Pat Garcia’s Turn out the light. Also Nora Ephron’s I feel bad about my neck, and Olga Godim’s Squirrel Magic. An Indian author – Jane Borges has written Bombay Balchao, about the Anglo Indians in Bombay which is light and funny. I didn’t get around to the business of short stories yet.

I know I commented this once to you on Instagram, but I really want to check out those books by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The covers have just drawn me in.
