Optional Monthly Question: When you are working on a story, what inspires you?

Life inspires me, but sometimes I have to focus and seek inspiration. I will listen to music that evokes particular moods or that helps set a scene. I will people-watch to observe natural reactions and responses. I will look at or attempt to create art that helps me flesh out a character or situation. While I might like to sit back and let the inspiration come to me, sometimes I get tired of waiting and just try something- usually a writing prompt.

This a voluntary monthly challenge, just for fun.

Now, on to the personal updates.

I had such a good time at RavenCon16. Check out the video below.

I’ve been writing more than I’m used- not a lot- but enough to make me feel proud. I even submitted a story to an anthology. Even if the story isn’t selected, I’m just proud I was able to submit something.

I haven’t written my April book reviews yet, but my reading was 50% positive and 50% not-so-positive. I’ll be talking more about that next week when I post my reviews, but the Book Club Library challenge turned out to be quite a ride.

What inspires you when writing?
What do you think of this month’s theme challenge?
It may take some time, but I promise, I will eventually stop by your blog.
My response time has gotten slower but I’m still making my rounds.

After hanging out with Alex, be sure to stop by and visit this month’s co-hosts:

#iwsgbookclub Mar. 2022 Poll & What I #read in Feb.

Please join the IWSG Book Club today on Goodreads for a short general poll. Aside from spotlighting two IWSG member books each month, we also want to engage in bookish whimsy and encourage others to have a healthy reading lifestyle. You don’t have to be reading or have read the 2 current featured books to be able to participate in this poll, so please, join in the festivities. Click the image below to see our fun poll. This month the topic is about the use of music/art when writing.

Mar. ’22 General Poll

In February 2022, I read 9 titles, though I didn’t finish one. I read 75% of it and that’s enough for me to count it on my Goodreads challenge. Check it out.

Below you’ll find my star ratings and review blurbs for each title I completed in the indicated month. If you have not signed up for my newsletter, please consider doing so. That’s where I post an overview of what I’ve been reading, watching, and writing quarterly, as well as talk about my love of reading while offering tips for having a healthy reading lifestyle. You can also click the Goodreads links to see the thorough reviews. At the bottom of this post, you’ll also be able to watch a video of my monthly reviews, if that’s more your style.

Fun Hops

Woop, woop! Brain 2 Books Cyber Convention Blog Hop – Yay #B2BCyCon2017!

Hi there, Toi here, and welcome to my ToiBox of Words. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by my booth yet, a.k.a my Author Showcase, be sure to do so.

I have some pretty cool stuff to share. I’m inviting everyone who signs up for my email list to receive a FREE short story, Clepher’s Heart (featured in the Of Past and Future anthology). It tells the story of how time travel and advanced technology might test the love of two brothers, but never break it.

Speaking of Anthologies, I’m one of the contributing authors to the B2BCyCon’s first anthology, Book Dreams Vol. 1. Please take a chance on this lovely collection… I heard that some of the authors are giving some freebies with it.

Also, if you haven’t had a chance to check out the Fantasy Scavenger Hunt, check it now. It’s loads of fun.

For this hop, I have quite a sampling to share with you, including insights into my creative thought process, book trailers, and fun games. Feel free to take it all in or simply peruse, picking and choosing what looks good to you. And, just for taking a chance on this hop… I give you my B2BCyCon GRAB BAG! Enjoy.
