Count Your Blessings 08: Adapt

blessings

Adaptation

Adaptation is a blessing in so many ways. Human beings have the ability to easily adapt, aided by our intellect. We dress warm when it’s cold, we save for a rainy day, and we learn to swim just in case. There is one area of human adaptation that is often overlooked and that’s our psycho-physical adaptation ability. If we smell something bad, even if the smell doesn’t go away, after a while we don’t notice it as much. We feel pain, it lets us know something is wrong, but pain can be adaptable. The first time you get a stomach ache, you may feel like you’re going to die, but years later the feeling becomes annoying. Obviously there’s more to it than that, but in all I think I’ve made my point. I’m blessed to have the ability to adapt.

Count Your Blessings 07: Humor

Humor

We are all blessed to have humor at whatever level we can muster. Without humor, the world would be a very serious, dull, and unbearable to place to live. Smiling, laughter, and amusement are necessary to keep us all from taking life so seriously that there’s hardly any reason worth living it.

That’s all.

Count Your Blessings 06: Pets

blessings

Pet(s)

There is nothing essential about pets, but they sure are nice to have. As far as I know, no other animal takes in species unlike its own and nurtures and cares for them, but we humans are more than just animals. Pets make us feel good about ourselves for any number of good, and sometimes bad, reasons.

Pets are a great way for people to give and receive uncomplicated affection. Pets also teach us life lessons. The care of a pet teaches us the importance of: nurturing, discipline, fitness, and more. Anyone having trouble keeping their pets alive shouldn’t be trying to have kids, but that unfortunately isn’t the world we live in. In any case, I’m blessed to live in a world with the concept of pets.
