Optional Monthly Question: What is the most favorite thing you have written, published or not? And why?
The most favorite thing I’ve written has been the story of Giovanni, a.k.a. Bletsian. Originally, I released the story as The Eternal Curse Series. I wrote three books in the series, but only release two, along with companions for each. I was writing the third book when I realized that my writer’s voice from book 1 to book 3 was dramatically different and there were things I felt needed to be expanded or explored with the story. Once I finished the third book, I decided not to publish it and removed the first two books from print. I still offer it in digital form in my Patreon shop, but haven’t been shy about the fact that I’m rewriting the whole series as The Mark of Bletsian.
Generally, Giovanni is the main character, but the story isn’t actually about him. It’s about him and everyone he encounters. It’s a story steeped in faith and the idea that there is a purpose to everything, even when we don’t like it. This story is ultimately about me and how I struggle with being a member of human society and choose to be a person of faith in a world that treats “faith” like a bad word.
It’s a family saga that spans millennia, from the time of angels to the destruction of the world. It’s a paranormal adventure with dark themes but an overall uplifting message. I lean heavily into the style of mythology (gods and monsters) but maintain a connection to reality and contemporary society.
It’s the best thing I’ve ever written and am currently writing.

Personal Updates…
I’m currently looking to move my website and blog to another host. I hope I don’t lose all of it, but I’m at a place where I’d be ok with losing it just to get away from my current host. I feel so heartbroken over the idea of losing decades of work I’ve put into the blog, including all the guest posts, interviews, and reviews I’ve shared that were impactful for other people, but this is where I am now.
Health issues continue to dominate my life. I’m hoping to finally reach a point where I can address my issues and move on with my writing. I’ve received two new diagnosis and look forward to finding out what the plan for treatment is.

Not in my post, still WIP, the book I’ve just finished rewriting includes
( almost accidently) the three or four families suggested by Jane Austen.
For different reasons, a potentially bleak future for each family. – ending focused on how they would support each other through this.
Rewriting, in 2025, there growing faith surprised me, including the Alpha age kids. Add the totally unexpected. – Maybe 2025 forced me to hope .. i
Thanks for stopping by. I’ve found that 2025 has forced me to do a lot of things, but I wish it came with more writing.
Hopefully you can figure out and solve the health issues so you can update that trilogy and get out into the world.
Thanks for the encouragement. There are so many projects I’d like to work on, if only I can focus on them instead of constant health issues. Still, I’m blessed and know that these stories will eventually be shared again.
Thank you for saying so succinctly exactly what I hope for Toi Thomas.
It’s very satisfying to look back at your work and feel good about what you’ve written.
Good luck with your move. It’s a challenge, I know. When I abandoned my WP blog, I didn’t think I’d be able to keep going, but I’m so happy I made the change. Hope you will be, too!
You have been such an inspiration to me. I really appreciate your encouragement.
Readers need your stories of hope and faith. Yes, every decade brings us new challenges, what I like to call personal plot twists, but health is a big one, as is continued commitment to writing. Perhaps the writing will help as you face down these new health issues. May the rest of 2025 bring only good your way.
Thank you for your kinds word. They mean a lot. I look forward to what the rest of 2025 brings.
When I was writing my Harmony Duprie books, I had to work hard to to maintain the same voice throughout. I wasn’t fully successful, but I think I came close.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, P.J. I was such a novice when I start out. I am so proud of what I accomplished then, but I excited to show how much I’ve grown.
Toi, I hope the doctors can help find a cure that ails you. My daughter is going through a similar process, lacking a diagnosis for swollen lymph nodes, inflammation, and more… I also wrote a series and as time pasted, my writing improved and eventually rewrote and edited the first two books. Take Care.
Thanks for sharing about your rewrite. I sometimes I feel like I’m doing too much, though I know what feels right to me. I am glad to know that others have done what I’m attempting now.
I love the passion you share when you write about your favorite project. That’s so cool. 🙂
And, by all means, find what works for your blog and for your health. Continuing to lift you up in prayers – to be strong in this strange world, and to have renewed health.
Thank you Tyrean, I really appreciate the encouragement.
