Happy Easter Everyone! – 2015

Wikipedia

Easter is a special time of year for many people. Christians celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. Others, who observe this occasion, spend time with loved ones and celebrate the coming of spring. It’s a time of year to look at things with fresh and hopeful eyes.

Easter isn’t just for Christians and I think it’s great. I look forward to seeing people of all backgrounds decorating, hiding eggs, and dressing in bright colors. It’s simply a lovely time of the year. So, to anyone reading this post today, or some time down the road, Happy Easter to you and welcome to spring.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! – 2015

Wikipedia

I like the meaning or idea behind St. Patrick’s Day and though I’m not Irish or Catholic I do celebrate it. It’s a fun cultural experience that helps me remain open-minded and, unlike many others on this day, I do not go out and get drunk because I can.

I’m not going to go on a tangent about controversy today. Click the image up top if you want to know some of the history, but do some real research if you care. So with that, I say…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

It’s Presidents Day – 2015

Wikipedia

What originally started off as a day to remember George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s  birthdays, has turned into a day a of education and remembrance in the US. I think President’s Day is one of the easiest and most beneficial patriotic celebrations to share with children. If you take the time to really go back and look at the lives of the people who’ve held the office of Present of the United States, you can learn so much about the ups and downs, the rights and wrongs, and the overall changes this nation has grown through.

I say let’s learn from the past. Let’s learn from great, not-so-great, and kinda bad leaders to see what the future may bring.

To the rest of the world, I hope you’re having lovely and peaceful day.
