A Day in My Life: Feb. ’14: The Not-so-sweet Life

dayNlife

You may or may not find this surprising, but as a writer I’ve never been much of a journaler (I like making up words). I’ve always kept writing, sketching, and poetry notebooks, but I’ve never really liked writing about myself. This monthly post is my attempt at rectifying that and is an opportunity for me to get a little personal, as I share a single event from my life.

February 2014 – The not-so-sweet life

So here’s the truth of the matter.

My life is very uneventful. I go to my day job, I come home and write, and I try to spend time with my family when I can. There’s been quite a bit of sadness and sickness going around lately and I’ve been less than thrilled with the result of my book launch. I’m proud of my book and the dozen or so people who’ve read it seem to like it. I’m moving forward with the sequel and am seeking beta readers for it now.

As for a day in my life, I just ate some of the best macarons on the planet. I got them from a little bakery service called: Hummingbird Macarons. So I guess there is a little something sweet happening in my world right now.

December 2013 – Holiday and Birthday Parties

June is a month that is so swamped with birthdays and other celebrations that I always feel a little overwhelmed, but December is a little different. There are several birthdays to be celebrated and then, of course there is Christmas, but it seems to be a little more laid back. So for this month of December, I say happy birthday to many, including my mother and nephew, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

November 2013 – Color Blank Party

My husband and I did something totally crazy a few weeks ago…We had people over! 😮

This may not seem like a big deal to you, but for a pair of loners, this is a big deal. Plus our place is small and we’re always leery of having people over and feeling cramped, but this event was a success. We served the best Apple Cider imaginable, a variety a sweet wines, fruit, and an array of cheeses and crackers. Then we sat around and randomly picked blank vinyl figures to decorate with Sharpies. It was a lot more fun than it probably sounds…We may actually have people over again…in a few months 😉 . Click here to see pictures of the event.
