I have a thing for green characters. Besides the fact that these characters are often misunderstood and provide some level of the “underdog” idea, which I have a soft spot for, these character are usually socially relevant. There’s always some reason that these characters are made green and that reason usually comes with a social issue attached. For Hulk, that could be a number of things: misuse of power, dangers of nuclear power and or radiation, playing god to create something better/super, and so on.

I like Hulk because he’s angry all the time, but time and again he proves that if people simply leave him alone, he won’t hurt anyone. As part of the Avengers, Hulk proves that he can have friends and work well with others, but that doesn’t mean he’s all of a sudden the life of the party. As an introvert, Hulk is a bit of super poster child. I often think of him when I write a character like Giovanni or some other social outcast.

EC: Battleground Sample Sundays

Sample Sunday 65: BATTLEGROUND

samplesunday

Here is approximately 100 – 150 words from a randomly selected original piece for your enjoyment. These samples can include excerpts from my all my WIPs and my Eternal Curse Series, but only as works in progress (not the final products). These samples of published and unpublished works are protected under the U.S. Copyright agreement.

Eternal Curse: Battleground 7.1 (wip)

Mira and I carefully and quietly snuck out of our private quarters and then out the hotel’s side entrance, as we headed to the poorest and most dangerous part of the city, so we could find the shanties. There we gave an old man a gold coin and a piece of plant based writing material, with a strange symbol on it that we’d been instructed to draw out. The symbol appeared to be the shape of the letter ‘U’ overlapped by three rings. Two parallel horizontal rings intersected at a one-third perpendicular across a longer vertical ring, caused all three together to resemble the appearance of a cross. We were told to give the coin to the first elderly man we saw and to show him the image so that, then, we would be lead to the secret caves.

Happy New Year’s Everyone! – 2015

Wikipedia

I would like to invite you to share a good-bye, something you’re grateful for, and a hope or want for the near or far future.

So many people have come and gone into this world in the past year. For me, I personally lost a sister-in-law. She and I weren’t as close as I would have liked, but we were pretty close. She was the first of my in-laws to accept me for who I was, no questions asked. I will miss her greatly.

I’m gratefully for the many blessing I’ve received throughout year, especially during my selfish moments when I was so undeserving of such blessings. I’m grateful to be the person my Lord created me to be, even when other don’t understand me.

Like so many others, I hoe for better heath and a overal improvement of life. Most of all, I hope to be able to remember my blessings and experience more happiness than sadness in the year to come.

Be safe this holiday and be blessed throughout the year.

This is an updated and reposted post.
